Spring is Teasing Me

I have found it very hard to emerge from my Wintery hibernation this year, and the wild winds of Tasmania have not helped at all.  Spring has been teasing me with a spattering of warm days, then the frigid winds return from the Southern Ocean and put an end to sun basking. Basking is quite the opposite of sun bathing, which is designed to tan the skin. Sun basking is more about warming up the bones that have been cooled and stiffened during the Winter months.

I have finally been able to upload some pieces to my online shop, but as always with my small batch practice, I struggle to accumulate substantial amounts of stock.  This is where the future of my production lies, in small limited edition stock runs that I enjoy creating and to not be a slave to a mass produced version of my pieces. I am working on a new small collection for a shop update soon.

So while I slowly build momentum in my daily practice this Spring, ready for the busy Summer season at Salamanca Market, I want to savour that quiet and slightly productive Spring time.

I have been working on new designs and reviewing some patterns from the past so they can be used as a starting point for new original designs to be created.
